A high resolution painting by artist Melchior d'Hondecoeter completed in the 1680s. This famous French artist was known for his collage of barnyard and other exotic animals masterfully done in lifelike landscapes settings. This lifelike painting hangs in the Met Museum and shows a pair of peacocks, with an array of other birds and animals interacting with one another and feasting on local fruits and nuts.
